Knitting Pattern in French for a Sweater with a Loose Fit Featuring an Intricate, Graphic Eyelet Pattern Combined with a Classic Rib Pattern, Available in Sizes XS/S | M | L (XL | 2XL/3XL | 4XL) 5XL.

Structure:

The sweater is worked in a simple lace pattern from the top down in one piece. First, the back is worked with increases to create a slanted shoulder line, and then knitted without further increases in the lace pattern down to the armholes. The front sections are then worked separately from one another and knitted directly onto the back in the eyelet pattern. To shape the crew neckline, additional increases are worked here after the first 2 stitches and before the last 2 stitches of a right-side row. Once the crew neckline has been closed, the front is worked in mirror to the back down to the armholes. The stitches of the front and back are then joined to complete the body in the round. Depending on your chosen size, additional stitches are cast on under the arms for an extra pattern repeat—or not. The body is then finished in the eyelet pattern in the round and completed with a classic ribbed hem worked with twisted knit stitches. Next, stitches are picked up along the armholes, and the sleeves are also worked in the lace pattern in the round to the desired length. Like the body hem, the sleeves are finished with a classic ribbed cuff with twisted knit stitches. Finally, stitches are picked up along the crew neckline, and a double folded collar in the classic rib pattern with twisted knit stitches is worked around the neckline as well. The sweater has an oversized fit. The relaxed silhouette highlights the lightness of the elegant eyelet pattern and makes the sweater the perfect companion for cooler summer days or mild temperatures in spring or autumn.
